Grease or traditional oil?

Low temperatures can significantly affect how lubricants perform. What differences have you experienced between grease and oil over long-term storage, and how have these changes impacted the operation of firearms?

I had an over-greased 300 blackout AR-15 choke in the cold one time because I had way too much grease. Other than that, I use a lot of grease vs oil

Unless a firearm specifically calls for one or the other, I tend to use oil on parts that turn and grease on parts that slide. In very low or very high temps I might change that.

Gun Grandpa Dale always told me the same, so everything I own gets this without deviation. Brian Enos slide glide and slide glide light are my go-to for grease, Militec for oil.
