I've been noticing my vision isn't as sharp as it used to be (signs of aging lol) Is it worth considering a micro red-dot sight for my CC gun to enhance sight acquisition, or is is impractical?

Try sticking between 3 and 6 MOA for your dot size. This size will help you pick up your target quickly, even if your eyesight isn’t sharp, while still keeping your accuracy intact at common self-defense ranges.

Lots of people carry with a dot. It’s totally practical. Not sure what gun you have but the Holosun 507K fits the single stack pistols well. Gonna take some practice with finding the dot but it will be better in the end.

It's not only practical, it's a notable improvement over using irons for most people. Your presentation will take some work, but it's faster, and you'll likely notice improved accuracy at longer ranges as well.

Pistol red dots are where red dots on ARs were in the early 2000s, a trend that was gaining steam and acceptance, but had not yet gained majority status, let alone dominance. That said, within a few years, pistol red dots will likely become the norm.

I’m with you on the age and eyesight, I recently purchased a Sig Romeo X black out 3moa and love it. I bought it for my P365 from Palmetto for $229, affordable and I can easily pickup the dot. For me (better shot with the dot).
