I hate to be the bearer of bad news but, as some of you know, Jim Macklin died in January at the age of 78. I knew him for more than thirty years and he was a tireless advocate of the second amendment. The firearms community in Kansas owes him a lot. He is survived by his wife Mary, two sons and one granddaughter.

Please take a few moments and pay tribute to him.

Jim had his finger on the pulse of the KS CCW rights movement. If it wasn't for dedicated people like him, we wouldn't have the gun rights that we have in Kansas. First Concealed Carry, then Constitutional Carry.

I remember Jim being an advocate of his 1911, Officers Model, I think it was. And he carried some crazy number of loaded magazines for it--I forget how many now. @gerhard1 maybe you remember how many mags he carried.

I also remember Jim posted photos of his homemade leather holster. Looked like Dr. Frankenstein sewed it up.

My best regards and condolences to Jim's family. They should know just how important he was to all of us, and that he is remembered and missed. Frankly, I never met Jim, but with our time on the forum, I grew to know him.

Rest in peace, Jim.
