The Gun of the Day posts will be less frequent for the new few weeks as I will be traveling. I am currently looking at featuring rimfires from other members during this time.
If you have one (or several) rimfire firearms you would like featured please PM me to discuss the details and simple picture requirements.

Winchester Wildcat (2019)
https://www.winchesterguns.com/products/rifles/wildcat-22.html
Introduced in 2019, the modern Winchester Wildcat is a semi-automatic, blowback, striker-fired rifle with a polymer receiver.
These should not be confused with the older Winchester Wildcat (TOZ-78) bolt-action rifle, that was produced in the 1980s by Tula in Russia.
The barrels feature button rifling and a recessed target crown for protection. The receiver has a Picatinny rail for optics and is topped with a fully adjustable aperture sight, much like a ghost-ring setup. It also works with most 10/22 magazines, these just won't support the LSHO (Last Shot Hold Open) feature.
The trigger assembly is easily removed from the upper receiver by pushing a single button located at the rear of the rifle with no tools required for disassembly. The trigger assembly also contains a pair of Allen wrenches, one for adjusting the rear sight and the other for removing the stock. To clean the barrel you insert the cleaning rod through the rear access port from the breech end, thus protecting the barrel crown.
A few other key features:
The safety is reversible.
LSHO feature with Winchester magazines.
Sling eyelets are molded right into the stock.
There is an integral picatinny top rail for optics.
A picatinny rail section on the underside of the forearm tip lets you attach a bipod, sling mount, light or other accessory.
The skeletonized buttstock reduces weight and IMHO just looks cool.
