New here. I live in SE Kansas outside of Longton. Been hunting for years. Bow, black powder and modern rifle. Mainly deer. Haven't bird hunted for years. Love shooting and have my own shooting range. Out to 100 yes. Pistols n rifles and bows.

Ive bird hunted once in the last ten years around Hays. It wasnt good...but, I do have a pretty neat Hawken .54 that needs to kill a few deer this year.

Ive bird hunted once in the last ten years around Hays. It wasnt good...but, I do have a pretty neat Hawken .54 that needs to kill a few deer this year.

I have a replica Hawken .54 also. Made in Italy. I can't remember what the model is but it's more of a carbine. Shorter barrel. But when I got it cleaned I took it out and set up a frozen 16 oz water bottle at 50 yards and on 2nd shot blew it apart. I took it on the last 2 days of the January extended season but never got a chance to shoot it. This year I will tho. I love it, glad I bought it. It's a beautiful rifle, in great condition and only paid $100 for it.
