Good thing I don't carry a Beretta. I'm assuming that's what this sign means.......

I make the same joke every time I see one of those signs. Doesn't bother me, since I'm not carrying a Beretta/1911/Revolver/Glock, whatever.
 
Gun kill Zone for the CRIMEFAMILY but not for Americans. Seems to me contrary to the Constitution’s 2 nd Amendment! Would/Could make this “sign” ILLEGAL? Shall MAKE NO LAW!🖕🖕🤬🤬🤬🤬
 
Note that all these signs mean is the proprietor of the business can demand you leave; like any other similar demand, if you refuse, you are trespassing and can get the police called on you. Businesses are private property. In the end, if you're properly carrying concealed, what they don't know won't hurt them.

But schools are not. And they still won't allow weapons, concealed or otherwise.

IMHO, these signs only keep out the people who would NOT use a weapon on school kids. The low-life, scum-of-the-Earth who WILL shoot innocent kids is the one who will disobey a 'No Firearms' sign.
 
Unless its been changed in the last 14 years, i clearly recall the kscch removing the fed gun free zone and allowed carry in public education as long as detection means werent implemented.

I clearly recall a conversation with my daughters principal in Olathe at Indian Creek Elementary, Liz Harris. Absolutely georgeous late 20s western KS farmgirl. I asked how she felt about the abolishment of the exenption for schools and licensed carry being allowed in schools. She let me know that they were all aware and that she didnt worry too much *looks at her backpack* and says "theyre not the only guns in the school".

Places off-limits even with a permit/license
  • Public and private K-12 schools (Exceptions are the possession of any firearm in connection with a firearms safety course of instruction or firearms education course approved and authorized by the school; possession authorized in writing by the superintendent or chief administrator; or a firearm secured in a motor vehicle by a parent, guardian, custodian or someone authorized to act in such person’s behalf who is delivering or collecting a student. Kansas law also allows individuals with a valid concealed handgun license to travel through a school zone, but K-12 school buildings may prohibit concealed carry if they post signage at the building’s public entrances. K-12 school district buildings are not required to have adequate security measures in place in order to restrict concealed carry.)

How thoughtful of the State to provide all these free-fire zones for lunatics who will ignore them and take a gun in and shoot up the place.

The only people being kept out are those who might have been able to stop the lunatic before he got going.

A lot of ambiguity concerning this subject, if you look at handgun law.us in the places off limits even with a license section, it appears you can carry and not be criminally liable. I would love a verbal conversation put into plain English with the attorney general on the subject of where a license holder can carry when posted and not be held criminally liable. I always want to be on the legal side, I don’t carry into the post office or Corp of engineers property or Kansas restricted areas. In my opinion all laws regarding the 2A are unconstitutional, but tell that the people serving time and losing their civil rights due to those infringements. Any gun lawyers on the site, would love to hear from you.

Not trying to butt hurt anybody or question anyone’s opinion. I have read the Kansas personal and family protection act. I think it would be nice to have a plain simple explanation put in easily understandable terms from a source whose explanation is absolute state law. I just like the face to face, eye contact conversation.

My comment was in no way directed at you. I dont know if you were on KSCCW.COM before the .gov disguised as chinese hackers took it down, BUT, Macklin was our extreme voice of reason and i just had to channel James there.
 
WA, I never heard of that Macklin guy but if he is a voice of reason and security for you and others, l think that’s great. I’m just putting out some information that I’ve referenced along with many others that some may find useful. Those two sites are excellent when taking road trips.
