10-17-25 - The Gun of the Day posts will be less frequent for the new few weeks as I will be traveling. I am currently looking at possibly featuring a few collections from some of my friends during this time.

If you have some rimfire firearms you would like featured please PM me to discuss the details and simple picture requirements.

-------------------------------------

Here is an index to my "Gun of the Day" posts.
I had to hijack my own post to use the one that was already pinned.

I will add to this as new posts are added. This way you can bookmark this post and check back to see what's new.

The current plan is to post 3-4 per week.

I thought I had responded to this one….

Anyway, My dad had one of these, a blue one with a carbine length barrel, barrel and magazine tube were the same length. I don’t remember it having any reliability issues or being finicky about ammo. But, I just may not remember…
It was passed on to one of his grand sons after he went west back in 2003.

I have a model 62 (not 62A) with a three digit serial number. I need to dig it out for a picture.

Good article, I always look forward to see what you are going to write about next!

I've got a Winchester 06 that has the pistol grip stock and different forearm (if that's what it's called; it's what cycles the action).

Found it along with an Iver Johnson Owl's Head .38 S&W left behind in a rental house as we were moving my mother-in-law into it.

They both function but are not in real good condition. I took a long range (maybe 200 yards?) shot with the pistol at a duck on a pond once but the sound got there before the bullet and the duck was gone before the bullet hit the water.
