Ruger AC556 and me

Ive always loved the AC 556/Mini platform. I very nearly bought a mini 30 years ago from this one guy who never responds to texts, Freetrapper.

Their inherent disability to put shots in proximity to each other has always kept me from buying one.
Same here. My nephew had a good looking stainless mini 14 with a wood stock that he offered to sell to me but the accuracy was… well, it was not accurate at all.

Yeah, especially of the 80's - early 2000's era mini's. Forget "minute of angle accuracy" they were barely "minute of pie plate" accurate. On the "Rock and roll" full auto mode, exact accuracy is compromised anyway so that is somewhat forgiven. I knew a guy in OK that shot the heck out of his AC556 and he sent it back to Ruger for basic service and when it came back, he was shocked how much work they did to it for basically nothing. Cosmetically nothing changed, but he said they rebuilt the whole thing and the insides were like new again and of course all the select fire components still worked.
