Mine's a 1st gen 4runner. Since it’s a Toyota, it’s built to endure some serious abuse ;)

And oh, it has a removable hard top too...

I had an 89 3.0 5spd for a long time. It got killed on I35, and was replaced by a 2001. If the 01 had the hardtop, it wouldve been perfect. The 89 was very trail capable, but that locking front and rear diff in the 01 put it in places the 89 never wouldve made it out of.

My 99 Ranger on 33s was very capable as well.

That 3.0 was a V6 right? Heard that engine had lots of issues.

Yeah, they liked to puke head gaskets and crack heads. Mine got a junkyard longblock in 95 and ran well til it was killed in 2012. With 33s on it, 20-22mpg could be attained if i kept it under 65mph.

It was coined the "Mondo Bondo" due to the rust and never ending attempts with bondo to curb said rust. It was honestly one of my most favorite rides.
