I started out using Hoppe's #9 solvent and oil. Now using Breakfree CLP.

Still use the old standard Hoppe's cleaning rods and tips with patches. Would like to get some bore snakes, and see how I like them.

What do you like, and have had good results with?

Random list of cleaners I have on hand that I found to have worked well over the years.

-Slicker (made in Kansas) https://sharpshootr.com/slicker/ (Not a lot of stores stock it so it would be faster to order from them)
-G96 (pretty much any gun store will have it)
-Lucas gun lube (Not as easy to track down, but a Lucas oil rep can order it)
-If I need to clean a scope body or a rubbery part, keep a can of CRC QD Electric Contact cleaner available. (can be bought at Wal Mart or car parts places).

-Fluid Film if it is an exterior metal part that doesn't involve other moving parts

For cleaning rods, the coated ones with the red ball bearing handle.

Almost exclusively Breakfree CLP.
Was raised on Hoppes #9, but...CLP just works and saves steps.

I don't use boresnakes. They get grungy. For instance, I wouldn't run a dirty patch over and over through any barrel. Seems like that's similar to what boresnakes do over time.

It depends on the gun and part but my top products are Hoppe's Elite gun cleaner for the bore and carbon residue on parts. I used Hoppe's #9 when I was poor, young, and stupid and shot cheap lead bullet ammo. Now that I am poor, old, and less stupid I only shoot jacketed bullets with cleaner burning powders. My favorite CLP's are Ballistol, G96, and Breakfree. My go to lubricant, though also a CLP, is Slip 2000 EWL. If I want something with higher viscosity I use the 30 weight version of EWL or Tetra grease. I have stopped using bronze brushes in favor of nylon for general cleaning but still keep a supply of bronze for stubborn areas.

Light jobs just get hoppes.

Sweets 762 bore solvent for those heavy jobs.

20 years ago i was given a 1 gallon metal jug of military bore solvent. Cant recall the designation, and the label wore off years ago. Its amazing stuff. I found it quite useful for getting carbon off of stainless steel.

Used CLP for years, probably still have some in the range bag.

Militec and Brian Enos slide glide lite gets used in everything.

Birchwood Casey gun scrubber works well for general cleaning. Boretec C4 carbon remover works great for rifle bore cleaning. Still use gun barricade afterwards to prevent rust. Lucas extreme gun oil for lube. I just like the applicator bottle.

I like ballistol since I can also use it with my black powder guns. I also use break free clp, hoppes #9, Lubriplate 130-A, Walmart wheel bearing grease, and Mobil 1 synthetic motor oil
