The sharpening session that turned into two hours

I picked up one dull folder thinking I would fix it quickly. Once I got started, I checked another knife, then another and before I knew it I was working through everything in the house. Two hours later every blade was sharp, my back was not thrilled and I felt more accomplished than I expected for a random eavening.

I remember sitting down to touch up one kitchen knife, then noticing the pocket folder then the work blade and suddenly the whole counter turned into a sharpening lineup that stretched my whole evening.

Knife maintenance always sneaks up like that. One blade turns into the whole collection but at least everything’s dialed in now and ready to go.

That’s pretty much the sharpening rabbit hole, one knife turns into the whole house getting serviced. At least you ended up with a full set of sharp blades even if your back paid the price.

One dull folder turning into a full two-hour session at the kitchen table? That’s honestly the most relatable thing I’ve seen on this forum all week.
