Myself, I am in the "Love" category.

I've liked them ever since I was issued my first one as an Army MP in 1973.

My favorite is the 5" Government model but the Commander and Officers are close behind.

A few Colt's, all .45ACP

Love God, love people........really, really like 1911s. But like Midwestshooter said, not what I'd want everyday. A Glock or M&P would be the everyday hardware....if I carried every day. The Springfield Echelon might be the best of the new stuff. Feels so good in hand. Long-term reliability remains to be seen.

I have a Ruger 10mm 1911 that is probably the most accurate handgun I own, including wheel guns. Weight helps tame the 10mm well. Have some .45s and 9mm too. First handgun I ever shot was my grandpa's 1911A1.

That said, in many matches I've shot in over the years...it was the #1 gun that I saw folks have issues with. I don't carry one.

They are beautiful pieces of genius design. But so are most of the current striker fired offerings

Ive owned so many of them, but it was a platform that I just didnt hold on to in the past. These two will never leave the stable. In 2016 I decided to join the geezer group in IDPA. Sold my G34 setup and grabbed this Dan Wesson PM9 on the cheap with the employee discount when I was at CZ-USA. Best $869 ive ever spent.

My second DW is the Razorback 10mikemike. Over a decade ago, I gave my brother some life advice and steered him to getting his degree in Electrical engineering. He ended up double major EE and math, with a minor in physics. When he graduated, i told him that if someone had given me advice like that, i would feel obligated to give them an appreciation gift. And his gift to me was that Dan Wesson 10mm.

Theyre beautiful, butter smooth, and super dee duper accurate.

That DW 10mm was a nice gift!!
I have one brother… apparently he doesn't appreciate me as much as your brother appreciates you…
He was set to leave for Marine boot camp 3 weeks after hs graduation. Unfortunately, his right ACL decided to give up a week before graduation. So, he got a medical discharge before he even got the chance to eat crayons. So, he was distraught, and decided he would go to school to be an art teacher. As any good brother would, I persuaded him to persue electrical engineering rather than struggling financially being a teacher.

When i floated the idea of an appreciation gift, it was very much tongue in cheek. Except he says he realized that it would be very much appropriate.

The photos of the above firearms make for some great Tuesday eye candy. Congratulations to all who own them.
