First Reloading thread?

Well, I hope this isn't the first and only reloading thread.

Anybody else reload?

I've been reloading for 10 years, but primarily in:
45 ACP
38 special
5.56
40SW

I did dabble with 45 Raptor, but something just isn't right about putting 40 grains of H110 into ANY cartridge

primarily a Lee loader, I use their new 6 pack. their priming system got an upgrade, so I got a new one.

I enjoy reloading and do most of mine on an RCBS Rockchucker and a Lyman T-Mag turret press.
I started out years ago with a Texan C press, which I still have.

I've been reloading for over 30 years. I use mostly Lee equipment with other pieces thrown in.

I have or do reload for 357 mag, 40, 45 ACP, 44 mag, 223/5.56, 22 ARC, 6.5 Grendel, 6.8 SPC, 7-08, 7mm Rem Mag and 300 Rem SAUM.

oh ya. The more I reload, the more I appreciate the efficiency of non-bottleneck cartridges.

Someday I'd like to swing up to Hodgdon in KC or Hornady in NE for one of their reloading tutorials, just to see what i've missed.
Someday I'd like to upgrade to a dedicated Dillon 1050 with autodrive and feeder for 45 Auto. that's how much I shoot it.

I've been reloading for about 12 years now. I've reloaded many calibers over the years. .45 Schofield, 8mm Mauser, and .455 Webley are probably the least common of what I've played with.

These days, I primarily do it for 5.56, 9mm, and .308, either bulk reloading for blasting ammo, or slightly smaller amounts to set aside for a rainy day.

25+ years ago I used to go up to Grand Island Nebraska frequently for work. While there I always stopped at the Hornady manufacturing plant. If they had time they would give a tour of the plant and explain the manufacturing process. The day I toured they were making .50 caliber bullets and gave me one for a souvenir, which I still have on my reloading bench.

In the front reception area they had shelves against one wall that had boxed bullets for sale at a discount. They were bullets from the beginning of a production run or blemished in some way. The boxes were marked "REJECT" but I never could find anything wrong with them except some might have some tarnishing on the jackets. They were different every time I stopped in. I would always buy several boxes.
If you showed them your NRA card you got an extra 10% off.

The last time I was up there was 2000…

I've been reloading for around 25 years. I started with a rock chucked. Then I bought a Dillon 55 wow what a difference. I reload .45acp, 45 long colt, 9mm, 44 mag, 357 mag, .41 mag, .38. Then in long guns - 6mm, 30-30, .223, .270, .308,. 30-06, 7 mm. I know I'm forgetting a couple. I'm still working on around that my M1A likes. I shoot alot,but I have my own range, so I just have to step out my back door. Plus I shoot black powder and crossbow.

I reload some. Mostly 9mm, some 223, 308, 6.5cm. Hornady LnL progressive, Dillon 550 and a rock chucker. I'm always down to learn more in the subject.

Reload:

22tcm, 556, 243 and 308 rifle

38 special / 357, 9mm, 40 for pistols

12 and 20 ga shotgun

Use a combo of rcbs and Dillon 550 for rifle and pistol and MEC grabbers for the shot guns.

Wet media tumbling for brass is awesome

I used to reload - I've got my first (Rock Chucker) plus a T-Mag and a Lock-n-Load AP. When my son was born I found less time for activities like that, and I have yet to take it back up....he just started sixth grade today....

Anyway, what are the odds my supplies are still good? I've got boxes of primers and jugs of powder stored in a cool, dry safe for eleven years now.

Started reloading 9mm for my dad's WWII bring back Hi Power in 1966 using a Lee Loader. Now load for the .32 family, .38 S&W, .38 Spl., .357, .44 WCF, .45 ACP, .45 Colt, .222,.223, 6.5-06 Imp., 7X57, .30-30, .300 Savage, 7.62X54, .30-06, .303 Brit., 8X56, 7.9X57, 8X57, 9.3X62 and 20, 16, & 12 ga. Also cast bullets.

Started reloading in 1963 at age 11 when I bought my first shotgun at the second hand store in town, a bolt action JC Higgins for $2.50. Started with a Lee loader. At the local hardware store I could buy shot by the pound, powder by the 1/4 pound, primers had to be bought by the box of 100. Bought card and fiber wads by the box. Second loader was a Lyman 310 nut cracker for an 8mm Mauser I bought from the Spiegel catalog in 1966 for $28.00 delivered. Sporterized it in wood shop in High School. Loaded lots of Herters bullets over a full case of surplus 4831 I bought for 50 cents a pound. Still have both guns and loaders. Over the years I have probably loaded for 75-100 different calibers. Must of my firearms have never fired a factory round.

My brother in law brought some powder and primers down that his dad had bought some 15 years before. We used it on his 6 mm rounds. Had only 2 - 4 misfire. And it had been stored in a cool dry place. I'd say load 10 with it and test fire and see how it does.

I mostly use a single stage RCBS rock chucker.

Ive got about 25 years of it so far. Started out on a Rockchucker that i got in trade for helping set some roof trusses. Started with 10mm.

I pretty much load everything i shoot now, except 12ga. I havent bought shot in many years.

Currently still have the Rockchucker, Dillon 650, MEC 600, and a Lee Load All in 12 and 20.
