Running a match timer

Once you've run a timer in competition you cannot un-ring that bell. Every range session after my first match had a timer on it because I could no longer fool myself about how long things were actually taking. The timer is the most honest training partner you'll ever have.

The timer doesn’t lie. The first time I used one, I thought I was quick. I wasn’t. It’s humbling but necessary. I never practice without it now, it feels like trying to lift weights without knowing how heavy they are.

Is there a timer that works for a public range/range with other shooters? I have the classic Pocket Pro 2 but having other shooters around confuses it.

Yeah, public ranges can really mess with timers. From what I have heard, better filtering helps but placement and dialing sensitivity usually make the biggest difference when things get loud and chaotic.
