What ammunition does anyone here carry in their EDC?

For my 986, I currently have Federal Hydra-Shok, but I am going to switch to their LE +P+ 110grain load.

For my Colt Viper, it is Winchester 38 special +P 125grain JHP

Anyone else?

Just run of the mill 9mm HP. Nothing fancy,

Hornady critical duty in my 4inch carry gun and critical defense in the shorter guns. But I think any quality HP will work fine.

Federal 147gr HSTs. Reliable expansion, good penetration, and accurate out of all of my potential carry guns, both micro compacts and full size. Other rounds, like Gold Dot, tend to favor the full size pistols, but the HSTs work for everything. Best carry ammo on the market.

For 9mikemike, Winchester Ranger RA9TA. 127+p+. Thats been my go-to for about 20 years meow. All from the tan box LE ONLY years.

The rest of the calibers are either factory Gold Dots or my recipes.

Fed HST in 147+p for summer carry and 124+p for winter, it's a proven round and is reasonably priced, even in todays word.

I'm considering mid-range wadcutters for my Colt. They're accurate, easy to control and I've heard good things about their effectiveness. A major problem with them is they are a lot slower to reload, so carrying other rounds in my speedloaders is certainly something to think about.

Anything other than round nose is going to be 'difficult' to reload under stressful conditions. And if you've already emptied your gun at someone and he's shooting at you, how could that NOT be stressful?

Good point. Perhaps I'd better clarify my position a bit. I'd carry WC's in the revolver, and others, e.g., WWB 130gr GMJ, in my loaders.
